Diets Don't work! Proper Change does!

When I get asked what's the best diet? How should I eat? How do I look chizzled ?
Well its really quite simple your body will tell you the answers if you listen to it. For example have you have had a sandwich or a bagel and felt great for and hour then heavy then tired and needing or more food? If so you are not alone. A fact is most people about 90percent of people or allergic to wheat and grains. So in my opinion if you feel like poo after eating or low on energy you probably should change your eating. Now I recently started a new eating plan the is high fat high protein and low carb. My body feels great I am leaner and don't get hunger pains or dizzy anymore. I feel I have found a food plan for life that makes me feel right. This is important for everyone to find. There is so much information out there on nutrition. I could talk on and on about this diet and that diet. My best advice is read up on it, science doesn't lie, ask lots of questions and try it! And most important LISTEN To Your BODY!
Don't forget diet is 75-80percent of achieving your ideal look. So get a meal plan and exercise life plan that works for you! Sorry there is no magic pill.
Everyone should watch "fat head" a documentary on fat! Is a must see and shocking information.

Speed KIlls

My coach kevin's fav saying is "Speed Kills" So I have focused on getting faster this year. This week I have really saw my times improve over 30m,60m, 200m,400m all in workouts. This gets me really excited to compete. Next week we are hoping to get the official speed gates out to see what I really got right now. I am pumped! Today was a hard workout I ran 400m 2min rest 200m one min rest 20mm then 8min and than repeat! Everything felt good and the first 400m went really well I felt relaxed and fast! I don't know if you'll ever hear a pole vaulter say that :) I have been working really hard so its good to see the times go down. Also I have been watching my food and revamped what I eat. This has got me lighter and leaner and I feel better than ever. I will touch on diets tomorrow. Thanks to mike and Jon trainers at performance east! They set me up with the right nutrition! check them out at

How I got Here

I have been asked a couple of questions why are you in Halifax? Are you pole vaulting? What is a Heptathlon?

Answers: Last year I had a nagging shoulder injury that blew up at nationals in July. I was left that summer wondering what was next, and where to go. I went on MANY MANY long runs (60mins for me is long) I thought about doing other events such as the hep. which is 7 events over two days. Now I have always enjoyed all the events in hep minus the 800m Barf! The events are 100 hurdles, high jump, shot putt, 200m (day one) and long jump, javelin, and 800m to finish day two! So I had many long talks and got the shoulder looked at. It seems there would be No upper body lifting for sometime. So I decided to move to Halifax with my boyfriend Geoff Harris 800m super star. Hope this would help my 800m :) The Canadian Sport Center Atlantic set me up with the right people to help me rehab my shoulder back. Although it still is not 100% better I can lift and throw with it. Swinging, which is key to vault is still iffy. Here I met my new coach Kevin Bourgeois multi event extraordinaire, willing to learn pole vault. We talked and decided we would train for multi events, worse case I will come back to vault a better athlete! So i started to plug away at all the events learn technique and new skills. Its fun because I have personal best at every meet, my learning curve is huge. I also love training hard and pushing my body to the max! With a Positive head on my shoulders I am hoping to qualify for this years Nationals in Calgary as a Heptathlete not a vaulter. This is bitter sweet, but this is how I have made the best out of an injury. Will I vault again?... I hope so but right now I have put in so much hard work, done the sickest workouts into doing a hep that I want to see what I can do!

So again please enjoy my blog keep the questions coming? And continue to follow my athletic career.
Thanks
Leanna
